What's UP???

Okay, so you've probably been wondering why I've not posted...could it be (a) I've got a job, (b) been busy, or (c) enjoying my time off. And the answer is (c)...ENJOYING MY TIME OFF!!!!

My day usually consist of looking for a job in the morning and the late afternoon and then I've got the rest of the day to do whatever I want!!!!! The first week or so after Christmas was of course slow in the job market world, but last week I noticed it picking up some and hopefully I'll see even more this week! I applied to several last week and haven't heard anything from those or any of my other ones yet, but that's okay (God's watching over me). While searching last week, I discovered that there is a job fair this Wednesday, so I've signed up and plan to go to it.

We did have a great Christmas and Carter got way too much as usual...I just recently got it all put away. We went to my parents for Christmas morning and ate a YUMMY breakfast. Then I went to my cousins to visit my dad's side of the family that afternoon, and then I headed home and got dinner ready for Jason's family. Then of course we didn't really get any rest before we had to head back to work the day after Christmas, so I couldn't wait for the weekend! We took the tree down on New Years Day.

The Sunday before New Years we went to Jason's side of the family for a Christmas gathering. It was nice to see all of them...this is the only time we see most of Jason's Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Since my last day was a day before a holiday, we got off a little early. Therefore, a couple of us ladies and even one that has already left the company met up for an early dinner on New Years Eve at Red Robin...it was really nice to all get together again and we hope to do it ever so often! We had a great New Years Eve...we mainly chilled at my parents house with them, Kathy, David, and Christian...we shot fireworks for a bit...I mean it was COLD and WINDY!!! But we finished the evening at home with a kiss and a Happy New Year and off to sleep we went...such party poopers, huh???

Carter and I along with Kathy, Christian, Ruby, and her children we went to the new place in town...Incredible Pizza the day after New Year's...we had a great time!!! It's basically like a bigger Chuck E. Cheeses and big buffet! They have indoor miniature golf, bowling, bumper cars, and go-kart racing as well as the usual indoor video cames. Here's a picture of Carter and I in the go-kart racing...it was Carter's first time and we came in FIRST PLACE!!!! Carter proudly showed off that ribbon to all!

Carter went back to MDO on Thursday the 3rd. He was all fine until we pulled up to the church and he started crying, and I said what...he said, "Papaw was supposed to bring me." Whoops! I just told him that until I found a job that I would bring him. He finally stopped about the time we got in. And he's been fine ever since. Sorry kiddo, we've both got a little adjusting to do for a little while. And I must say we are adjusting quite nicely!!

Friday the 4th my friend Maria came over with her family and I finally got to meet her daughter Susanna and her husband, Josey (sp??). I met Maria while working at the bank during my college years. We have stayed in touch. She moved backed to her home country of Venezuela several years ago (right before I got pregnant with Carter I think). She married and has a daughter now. They've just recently decided to come back to the United States to make a new home here. She got here in late October and we finally got to meet up. It was so good seeing her. We went to Susanna's birthday party this past Saturday...she turned TWO! She is so sweet and just a precious little girl!! I'm just going to brag here a little, while at the party, I played 3 guys and 1 girl in a game of horse and you guessed it...I WON!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to get the chance to see Susanna grow up and see her and Carter play more together...they had so much fun together!!

Finally, I got a picture on this past Monday of my boy playing with his favorite thing now a days...POWER RANGERS! Red is his favorite one...notice his red shirt...yep, that's why he likes to wear red now!!! I'm enjoying spending so much time with my little man...he's growing up so fast!!! He's so sweet and loves me so much!!!

I had dinner with my cousin, Elizabeth on Wednesday night...we had such a good time just talking. Well, I think I did most of the talking this time...mainly about my last few days at work and all my feelings on that!! Also, we went to the Mexican Restaurant and there is a deaf man there, so I got to see her 'speak' to him, so that was neat.

Friday was a scrapbook night for me, so I got two 8x8 double layouts done in my Family Christmas book and a double 12x12 layout. I even got another one done over the weekend. I hope I can keep rolling with them.

I would like to wish Denise a Happy Birthday. I used to work with her at my old job and now she's a good friend...and she scrapbooks with me too!!

Other than the Job Fair on Wednesday, I've got to take Carter to the Dentist that day too. I hope you all have a great week and say a prayer for me on Wednesday!
