FINALLY OFFICIAL!!!

Today was "THE DAY". We finally got the news at work that our office is closing at the end of the year and our jobs are being eliminated!!! It was announced at the conference call, so all know it now. It wasn't a shock to us as we saw it coming. Corporate flew someone down today to give us our packets...that is if you want to call it that b/c it was just a Q&A thing...didn't really tell me exactly what my severance was or anything specific at all...so we where all quite mad about this!!! I had to really bit my tongue from saying what I really felt!!!! I've read the severance agreement and know what I should get but it would still be nice if they'd write it out for us, ya know?!?!??! As for now, they are saying we'll get the numbers sometime on or before December 31st...gee thanks!!! When we got our packets, we were all called in one by one and they called HR while Julie was telling us...HR even had the nerve to say please feel free to check for other opportunity within the company...YEAH RIGHT!!!! I DON'T THINK SO!!!! I'll be sad to leave the friends I've made, but I'm so ready to get out of all this corporate mess!!! I'm not just saying this b/c I'm lossing my job (b/c I've been through this before), but it seems like they are making CRAZY decisions and I just wonder if the company will be around in 5 years. I've been with the company for 4+ years (would've been 5 years in March). I tell you what though...this company is treating it's employees like GARBAGE and this is totally different than what I went through at TP (yes, I was laid off at my last job too but they at least gave us a year warning and brought someone in professionally to help us with our resumes). I have a whole lot more RESPECT (which is something this company keeps preaching to us...but I guess they don't do what they preach or either they have a different definition for the word than I have) for TP than I do for CC.

So family and friends...if you know of anything please pass it along. My resume is ready and I can forward it to you...I have a Finance Degree. I wouldn't mind sticking around until the end (it's really going to be hard to work) for the severance and possible bonus but I can't let a great job pass me up either. I even went out and bought my suit this weekend!!

So please pray that I get a job in a timely manner and please also say a pray for my cousin, Corey...she is having surgery in the morning. She suffers from Crones Disease.
